I don't think you can find one for $150 but I found this really nice seller on ebay (link below) who sells really nice standard gowns at a budget :)

I just did my first showcase after dancing for 8 months found a beautiful dress for $60 on sale at Lord and Taylor's! It was originally well over $300.

I do have a back-up, but one of the members here has been a wonderful and found a dress that may work. Good for you finding something, at a novice level we can get away with some other styles, but I'd love to have a true ballroom dress. What style was yours? Short or long? I'll be doing fox trot, waltz and tango so would like floor length.

This is me, but I'm on vacation, on my laptop and my password isn't saved. Thanks Myra for thinking of me, but I wear a 14 so that wouldn't work. I am working with another poster and we're hopeful that dress will fit.

Your dress search got me to thinking how much things change.

Back "when "..Amats for a 1/2 dance comp Ladies, cocktail dress and men Lounge suit..
To me, this opened the door to many more future competitors, who did not need a large initial investment.. And.... kids dressing how they do today ?... !!!!

Thanks to Ballroomchick I now have a dress! The yellow one she mentioned was bautiful, but sadly, the wrong size. NMarkRN I did find a floor length one at Off Sax 5th Avenue, which could have worked if this one hadn't. However, Ballroom's is an actual smooth ballgown so I'll feel much more confident in that one. I had the chance to try on a $4,000 Jordy dress, when the young lady at the dance studio thought the re-sale price was $100. No it was $800! It was gorgeous with a lot of beading but extremely heavy so it would have been a challenge for me dancing in it. If anyone else is interested in her dresses, I definitely recommend contacting Ballroom.

My goal is to offer ballroom gowns (Standard as well as American Smooth) and Latin dresses that are priced with a dancers budget in mind. Very few of my dresses reach the $1,000 mark. Most of my dresses are stoned in Swarovski crystals. I list what crystals are used in the descriptions of the dresses. Many are new-never danced in. Some are used - the missing crystals have been replaced.

I have 4 preteen NDCA approved girl dresses that are used and in perfect condition that I'm selling for $45 each.

I am slowly getting these uploaded to my FB page. Anyone who is interested let me know.

@ballroomchick

Hello! Do you happen to have any junior or youth ballroom gowns? Also, will you be making a facebook page with the costumes on sale?
